  Stonehenge

Stonehenge is a Bronze Age building in the south west of England. It consists of a circular megalithic rock formation, surrounded by a ring grave and directly outside this circular earth wall. The paving was probably built between 2500 BC. and 2000 BC. The dike and tomb are from about 3100 BC. (Neolithic). The name Stonehenge comes from the Old English word Stanhengist which means 'the hanging stones'. How at that time they managed to get these huge blocks of hundreds of tons up on over 6.5 meters high upright stones is astonishing. Stonehenge, Avebury and its surroundings were included in the 1986 UNESCO World Heritage List.

Stockholm Balcony of Juliette

On the street Via Cappello No. 23 in Verona, we find a place many have heard of. Here we find the house from the 13th century where the Dal Cappello family originally lived. The balcony of this building is the balcony where it is said that Julia stood when Romeo promised her eternal love in Shakespeare's famous "Romeo & Julia" which took place here in Verona. Thousands of pilgrims come here to get happiness in love and if you write a letter to Julia you will get an answer even if it is from a staff of volunteers who work upstairs in the building.

Stonehenge Parthenon

The Parthenon is located in the Acropolis which means higher city.The name Acropolis can generally be used in all cities or areas built in this way. Examples are in Rome, Jerusalem, Bratislava, Asia and Castle Rock in Edinburgh. The Parthenon with its pillars was built in 438 BC. and is a classic symbol of ancient Greece. The temple was originally built for the Greek god Athena. After that, the Parthenon has served as a place for the city treasury, Christian church and then a mosque to now not fulfill any practical function since the 17th century. The sculptures from the Parthenon have been in museums in London since the early 19th century, but Greek authorities are working to get them back.

Balcony of Juliette Aloba Arch

This amazing natural boat in Chad called Aloba Arch is the highest natural arc formation outside of North America. The arch is estimated to be about 76 meters long and have a clear height of 120 meters. This means that you can put Uppsala Cathedral under the arch without it hitting.

Parthenon The Big Hole

Big Hole is an open pit and underground diamond mine in Kimberley, South Africa which is said to have the largest hole dug by hand on earth. The hole is half a kilometer straight across and has a depth of 240 meters. When it became too dangerous for the mining company to dig deeper in the open pit, they continued underground and continued down to a depth of 1097 meters. Big Hole is waiting to be added to South Africa's World Heritage List.

Aloba Arch Avenue of the Baobabs

The Avenue of the Baobabs is a prominent group of baobab trees along the gravel road between Morondava and Belo-Tsiribihina in the Mena region of western Madagascar. Its striking scenery and strange appearance attract travelers from all over the world, making it one of the most visited places in the region.

The Big Hole Lake Nakuru

Lake Nakuru is an alkaline lake located in the giant fault Rift Valley that stretches from Turkey to Mozambique. Rift Valley has created a whole series of fault lakes in East Africa, of which Lake Nakuru is Kenya's most famous. Lake Nakuru's main attraction is the tens of thousands (sometimes hundreds of thousands) of flamingos that nest there.

Avenue of the Baobabs Kaba

In the middle of the city of Mecca we find the mosque Masjid al-Haram. In the open courtyard stands the Kaba (from the Arabic al-Ka bah which means cube) and is the holiest place in the Islamic world. It is against Kaba that all Muslims around the world should turn when they pray.

Lake Nakuru Burj Khalifa

The building was first called Burj Dubai, but got its current name at the inauguration in 2010. The building is 828 meters high and has 164 floors. It's like putting more than two Empire State Buildings on top of each other. The building is estimated to have cost about $ 400 billion. When other houses were beaten about 10 meters in record, the Burj Khalifa was more than 300 meters higher than the nearest competitor when it was ready and is still today about 200 meters higher than No. 2 in the world.

Kaba Taj Mahal

The Taj Mahal is a mausoleum in Agra, India that the Mughal ruler Shah Jahan had built over his beloved wife Mumtaz Mahal. Construction began in 1632 and was completed around 1643. Burj Khalifa The Terracotta Army

The Terracotta Army is an archaeological find of about 8,000 life-size clay models of soldiers and horses housed in a military formation. The find was made about two kilometers east of the tomb of China's first emperor Qin Shi Huangdi who died in 210 BC. The terracotta army is divided into three pits and so far about 2,000 soldiers have been excavated. A fourth empty pit has been found adjacent to the other pits, which indicates that the burial complex was never completed. All soldiers in the Terracotta Army have unique appearances and represent different military ranks. The terracotta army was found in 1974 by farmers digging a well, which became one of the greatest archaeological discoveries of the 20th century. The finding was a big surprise because the Terracotta Army is not mentioned in any historical documents.

Taj Mahal Tokyo Skytree

Tokyo Skytree is a TV tower in Sumida, Tokyo, Japan. The tower is the world's second tallest (after the Burj Khalifa) and Japan's tallest structure, with a height of 634 meters. Construction began on July 14, 2008 and was completed in March 2011. It is primarily built for radio communications that take over the function as the main point for broadcasts in Tokyo after the 333 m high Tokyo Tower whose height is not enough as the surrounding buildings have grown higher and shadows the signals. The Terracotta Army Angkor Wat

Tokyo Skytree Uluru

Angkor Wat Tazmania

Tasmania is the continent's largest island and a state in Australia located south of Melbourne, about 240 kilometers off the Australian coast. The island has about half a million inhabitants. Before the arrival of Europeans, 5,000-10,000 Aborigines lived in Tasmania. The Aborigines died of the diseases that the Europeans had and many of them were managed. Tazmania Matchu Pitchu

Machu Picchu is a well-preserved pre-Columbian mountain town in present-day Peru, which was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1983. Easter Island Tikal

Tikal is a ruin from an ancient city, which is believed to have been called Yax Mutal. The city is located in the middle of the Guatemalan rainforest. If you visit the place at early dawn, you can sit on top of a Mayan temple surrounded by monkeys and watch the sun rise over the rainforest. In 1979, the site became a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Matchu Pitchu Hollywood Sign

The famous Hollywood sign in the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, California was erected in 1923 to advertise a residential building project in the mountains above Hollywood. The letters were 13.6 meters high and nine meters wide, packed with light bulbs and originally formed the word "HOLLYWOODLAND". The sign then expired in the years that followed, it was expected that it would last a maximum of one and a half years. In 1932, actress Peg Entwistle committed suicide by throwing herself from the letter "H". Seven years later, in 1939, the sign was officially discontinued. In 1949, the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce offered to remove the last four letters and restore the rest of the sign. When the city decided that all possible lighting of the sign would henceforth be paid for by the Chamber of Commerce, they chose to remove the light bulbs and the sign got the basic look we see today.

Tikal Mount Rushmore

The Mount Rushmore National Memorial was created to commemorate the first 150 years of American history. The idea was to attract more tourists to the area. The mountain is named after Charles E. Rushmore, a prominent New York lawyer, during an 1885 expedition by David Swanzey (husband of Carrie Ingalls) and Bill Challis. Mount Rushmore is now best known for its 18-foot-tall granite busts depicting US Presidents George Washington (1732–1799), Thomas Jefferson (1743–1826), Theodore Roosevelt (1858–1919), and Abraham Lincoln (1809–1865). These huge granite busts were created by the Danish-American sculptor Gutzon Borglum and his son, Lincoln Borglum, together with 400 workers. Work on the artwork began in 1927 at the initiative of President Calvin Coolidge and ended prematurely on October 31, 1941, due to a lack of funding for further work as all US finances were used for war rearmament before the country entered World War II.

Hollywood Sign Niagara Falls
